DELZOPPO ‘CLEANS UP’ WITH COVERALL CLEANING CONCEPTS

Successful Cleveland-Area Franchise Owner Aims to Become System’s Top Earner

WILLOUGHBY, OH – (November 28, 2006) – After 25 years in the cleaning business, Sam Delzoppo became a Coverall Cleaning Concepts Franchise Owner at the urging of some friends. “They have always bugged me to start my own business,” he says. “I looked at a couple of other cleaning franchises and decided on Coverall in part because it fit the geographic areas I wanted to target.”

That decision turned out to be a good one for other reasons as well. The $3,000-a-month (gross revenue) franchise package that Delzoppo bought in November 2002 has already grown to $24,000 a month. He continues to focus on building his business volume and finding good employees to service his customers, saying he intends to become Coverall’s highest-volume Franchise Owner.

“I’m willing to do what is necessary to reach $100,000 a month if that’s possible,” says Delzoppo, 47. “The market is there, and the system gives me the tools I need to be successful.”

Delzoppo’s extensive background in the cleaning business has contributed to his success. Before joining the Coverall Cleaning Concepts family, he served as Area Director for Building Services at the Cleveland Clinic, Director for Housekeeping, Transportation and Patient-Care Services at Mt. Sinai Hospital, and a Contract Cleaning Administrator for Case Western Reserve University, all in Cleveland.

Among Delzoppo’s clients are commercial properties, office buildings, salons, a hospital and a police station. He opens each account himself, assessing its equipment, supplies and labor needs before turning it over to his staff. He also makes sure that all equipment and supplies are on site when his people arrive, speeding their work by eliminating the need to unload and reload at each stop.

Delzoppo’s formula for success has been to “find good people, give them good pay and benefits, train them right and always have a Plan B in your side pocket, because sometimes things just don’t go right.”

Delzoppo finds potential employees through word of mouth and monthly ads in a local newspaper. He also serves on several chamber of commerce boards, which affords him ample opportunity for networking. He currently has 12 employees.

His retention strategy includes a combination of health insurance and performance bonuses.  For instance, he offers $25 for six months of perfect attendance and $50 if an account is in good standing and the client is happy. He is also developing a patient-satisfaction bonus for his account at Kindred Hospital in Cleveland.

Coverall Cleaning Concepts’ Franchise Owners provide cleaning services 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Service offerings include routine cleaning as well as a menu of specialized and premium services including hard floor care, carpet cleaning, window/blind cleaning, restroom sanitation, ceiling and wall cleaning, and fire/flood restoration. All technicians meet U.S. standards for minimizing risk of disease transmission through proper cleaning techniques.
